Hi Ronnie,
We wanted to take a moment to thank Ben's for helping us with our luncheon for my son's Bar Mitzvah a few weeks ago. Yes, the food was great, as Ben's always is, but there was so much more that was done to help us, and almost all of it was due to the work of Gilah Salzano.
From the time I first met Gliah months before Aaron's Bar Mitzvah, we weren't sure we wanted to work with Ben's but she was so supportive, easy to work with, and was creative and thoughtful in putting together the luncheon immediately following the service in the synagogue that we couldn't go with anyone else.
She helped us put together a menu that was plentiful, fun, and within our budget. She pointed out numerous options of sandwiches, platters, hot foods, salads, and special presentations like a hot dog stand and barbecue, and kept suggesting alternatives until we came up with the best option for us. Hot appetizers of mini hotdogs, mini knishes, potato latkes, and mini stuffed cabbages were passed around by waitstaff while people were entering the social hall. Two food stations set up where two lines on each side could choose their food from the buffet of deli platters, cucumber salad, health salad, Israeli salad, pasta salad, and the usual delicious Ben's staples of coleslaw, potato salad, pickles, relish, etc. Dessert consisted of fruit platters and pastries. Gilah helped us make sure that there would be enough food, a variety of food, and that the overall menu would be in our budget. She was also helpful at suggesting a coffee setup, drinks, dessert and all the other details from paper plates/cutlery, tablecloths, to the number of staff that would all make sense. Gilah was so invested in our party, she even came to the synagogue beforehand to help us decide how the room should be set up, how guests would flow, and how the tables should be best set up in order to make the event enjoyable for our guests.
The feedback we received is from friends and family, many of whom have eaten in the restaurant, was that they never thought Ben's could produce such a great event (and of course, the food was delicious!)
I would highly recommend Gilah and Ben's to cater your next party.
