Employee Spotlight

Joe and Kayla Silverstein are the son and daughter of our Vice President Todd Silverstein and long-time worker Ann Marie Silverstein and they are the grandchildren of retired long time General Manager Fred Silverstein. Collectively, the Silverstein's have worked for Ben's since 1983. They are being honored as this month's spotlight employees because of their dedication to this restaurant.

Get to know Joe and Kayla:

What is your title?
Joe: Manager
Kayla: Cashier / Closer

How long have you worked for Ben's?
Both Joe and Kayla have worked for Ben's since they were 13, when they got their working papers. They both started out as cashiers and Joe also worked as a holiday and BBQ helper.

Why do you enjoy working at Ben's?
Joe and Kayla like working at Ben's because they get to spend time with family while helping make customers happy and learning how a restaurant operates.

What's your favorite Ben's menu item and why?
Joe: Goulash and brisket
Kayla: Bologna and smoked turkey on a challah roll

Tell us a little about yourselves...
Joe: I like to fish and play golf on my days off
Kayla: I like to shop and go to the salon on my days off
Both live at home with their parents and enjoy playing sports.

Any favorite Ben's stories from your history with the company?
Both of them, in different years, were part of the catering team that went to Washington D.C.
to cater an event for congressmen - this event included all congressmen who represented the districts where Ben's are located.
