Summary of Duties and Responsibilities

You, as one of our cashier/hosts(ess), are extremely important at Ben’s, because you are the first and last person our customers talk to. Our customers like to be greeted with a smile and remembered by name. You are also the person they reach when they call on the phone. So foremost, we look for the special someone who enjoys the role of Ben’s goodwill ambassador.

Of equal importance is your ability to keep an accurate accounting of all transactions, collections, and disbursements at the cash register. You must itemize and total special processing items such as catering and delivery orders, house charges and cash pay outs. You will collect cash, checks, credit card payments and house charges and properly ring them into the register under the proper transaction codes for the counter, the dining room, catering, etc. You may reconcile checks, cash receipts and charge sales with total sales recorded to verify accuracy of transactions at the end of the work shift.

During off peak business periods, you will learn to handle phone calls from customers placing orders for take-out and catering events. You may be asked to provide sales assistance to help customers make informed choices among the many products and services we offer.

Part of the time you may find yourself greeting and seating customers in the dining room.
